FC EUROATLAS  0 – 1  Amicale P&T

In the mind of FC Euroatlas players this game against Amicale P&T, “old rivals” from the last season, was going to be a very difficult one. However, a game where they could perfectly reach the victory. Despite their huge aggressive game, sometimes beyond the acceptable like we saw during this game, Amicale P&T doesn’t have a better team. In fact, one could bet on a draw or a victory for Euroatlas as they were playing home and could take advantage on that…

The game starts and with less than one minute of game, FC Euroatlas was very close to the goal. Eugénio receives the ball on right, makes an incursion to the center trying to find a line to the striker but it´s Remy that appears suddenly from the left inside the area. Eugénio makes the pass and Remy shoots to the opposite post, with the ball passing a couple of centimeters wide. The trend of the game seemed to remain, with a couple of similar initiatives from FC Euroatlas, but…

Amicale P&T woke up and start to impose their physical game. The “free” game that was taking place disappeared and several consecutive faults started to occur. Some very hard tackles, several unclear decisions from the referee, most of the times in favor of Amicale P&T, let the FC Euroatlas players innervated with such impartiality…  The first half can be resumed basically by the moment of the unique goal of the game. Almost at the end, a penalty was awarded to Amicale P&T that easily converted it.

On the second half, Amicale P&T kept the strategy, a very tough style of game. FC Euroatlas tried, on the few minutes when the game was not stopped, to level the score but without success. With huge complains about the referee performance, the nervousness took over the players’ minds and the team got disconnected. Very close to the end, with the entire team of Euroatlas on the attack making the last effort, a counter attack from Amicale P&T almost resulted in goal. The striker completely alone with only the Euroatlas keeper in front of him was not able to score because Iulian did a great save avoiding the hat!

In the end, 0-1 was the result. FC Euroatlas lost the game but earned a big lesson… Not worth spending time talking and arguing with the referee and the oponents, instead of playing. Even if the team has the reason on her side, it’s only by playing and having a good team spirit that the victory is achieved!
